Dorset, England

As featured on Once Wed. We followed designer Emmily Jones’s guide, leaning on the bold use of color that emerged from The Earl of Shaftesbury’s efforts to revitalize the estate.  To keep the focus on the original architecture,  Designing this concept, I was inspired by the boldness of the interior of St. Giles. The Earl of Shaftesbury, and his wife, have put love and character into their revitalization efforts while, still managing to keep an air of tradition and history. With unique, rich paint colors throughout the home, color-play continued to be the leading role in the design. I settled on a monochromatic scheme of pinks, blues, greens and purple. Accents of very thin gold in understated ways made beautiful accents, along with clean and modern paper goods. An intricate mantle installation using delicate blooms and gold wire added a fresh juxtaposition to the grand room’s opulent architecture.
